Why should I place an ad in the Sampler?
The Sampler site is an especially good place to promote your indie crafts, zines, labels and sites, as it reaches a very specialized market – other indie businesses (contributors) and the people who love them!
Also, your ad would help support and grow the Sampler!
How will my ad be displayed?
Ads will run down the right-hand side of the Sampler site on every page and will be displayed randomly, so everyone has a chance to be on the top, bottom, and middle of the list.
How much do ads cost?
Ads are currently priced at $50 for non-contributors.
Ads for contributors start at $40 and are discounted according to the contribution category under which you last fell. Here’s a little breakdown:
- 25+ Category: $40
- 50+ Category: $30
- 75+ Category: $20
- 100+ Category: two weeks completely free!
- Super Mega Category: One month completely free!
How long do ads run?
Ads will appear on the Sampler site for 30 days. They’ll go up shortly after your purchase and come down 30 days after that date.
What are the ad specs?
Ads must be 150 pixels in width and 100 pixels in height. They can be animated, but please limit your file size to 25k. If your ad does not conform to the specs we may adjust them or ask you to send in another ad.
What if I don’t have an ad banner?
No problem! If you know how to create graphics that are 150 pixels in width and 100 pixels in height, and all you need to do is animate them, you should check out this great animated gif program.

Please understand that Sampler Ads will be subject to certain editorial guidelines. The Sampler reserves the right to reject any proposed ad if it is deemed offensive in any way. In such cases, you will be notified immediately and your payment refunded
